Therapy, also referred to as psychotherapy or counseling, is a collaborative process where you work with a trained mental health professional to explore and address a wide range of personal and emotional challenges. It provides a safe and confidential space to talk about your feelings, thoughts, and experiences. Therapy can help you gain insight, develop coping skills, and make positive changes in your life. It is a supportive journey toward better mental and emotional well-being.
If you are uncertain if therapy is right for you, I encourage you to schedule a free phone consultation so that we can discuss your specific goals and needs.
The frequency of therapy sessions can vary depending on your goals and needs. Initially, it is common to meet weekly to build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic relationship. As you progress, we may decide to meet less frequently, such as bi-weekly.
I currently accept Aetna insurance. For all other insurance plans, I am considered an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with a monthly bill statement “superbill” that can be submitted to your insurance to request reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm your coverage for mental health services.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
